Columbia Way in Vancouver, WA Opens – Making Way for Bold Waterfront Development

Columbia Way, a new street along the Columbia waterfront in Vancouver, Washington, recently opened, marking the latest step in the evolution of downtown Vancouver. This long-awaited milestone opens up more than 40 acres of public and privately owned land for new development and park access. As part of the 2007 Vancouver City Center Vision, Columbia Way is a cornerstone connection that makes redevelopment and revitalization of this desirable real estate possible. Leland Consulting Group (LCG) assisted in crafting the Vancouver City Center Vision and is currently engaged by the Port of Vancouver USA to help guide the planning, market and financial analysis, and development strategy for Port-owned property adjacent to the Columbia River. Further evidence of the Plan gaining traction came earlier this month with the announcement by the Port that they landed their first tenant, a biotech company, in the newly named Columbia River Life Sciences Technology Building located in the former Red Lion at the Quay hotel. In the next few years, development along Columbia Way is also expected to include a new Port headquarters building and a new hotel.
