Leland Senior Analyst Jennifer Shuch was quoted today in a San Francisco Chronicle article about the success of middle housing policies in Portland and San Francisco. While San Francisco has seen limited middle housing development, Portland’s Residential Infill Project (RIP) has delivered fourplexes, cottage clusters, and other middle housing types throughout the city. As a housing advocate with Portland: Neighbors Welcome, Jennifer worked with a coalition of developers, active transportation advocates, tenant groups, climate organizations, and others to expand housing options through the second phase of RIP, known as RIP2. Jennifer is currently on the board of Portland: Neighbors Welcome and is active in their current campaign, Inner Eastside for All.
