Leland Consulting Group would like to congratulate senior analyst Andrew Oliver on earning his AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) certification this summer. Andrew has been busy with numerous Comprehensive Plan Updates and housing-related work for many Washington cities in the past several years, as well as working on several site redevelopment projects in Alaska and Oregon. He has also been working on Santa Fe, New Mexico’s current General Plan Update, Santa Fe Forward.

Andrew’s circuitous journey to planning started with a Systems Dynamics course in high school, though he pursued a music career for over a decade before pursuing a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University. Andrew’s planning work at Leland has focused on improving housing affordability and accessibility, and implementing recent statewide housing legislation in Washington. Andrew brings Leland’s clients both detailed technical analysis and the ability to effectively communicate the results of these analyses in a productive way that leads to positive policy and implementation outcomes. AICP certification provided Andrew with an opportunity to revisit many important core planning principles and concepts to become a more well-rounded and effective planner.
