$363M Port of Everett Proposal Approved by City Council

In addition to the historic role that ports have played in the realm of economic development, urban ports are increasingly becoming involved with mixed-use development. The Port of Everett, Washington, owner and operator of the largest public marina on the west coast, is developing a large mixed-use in-water and upland community on its waterfront.

Last week, the Everett City Council approved a development agreement to move forward on the Port of Everett’s $363 million Waterfront Place Central mixed-use development. The 65-acre site will have up to 660 housing units, two waterfront hotels, 10 restaurants, 15 public gathering spaces, and 662,000 square feet of commercial, retail, and marine sales and services.

Leland Consulting Group has served as co-manager of the planning and pre-development process with RMC Architects. In addition to project management duties, Leland Consulting Group has provided strategic planning, real estate development advisory services, market research and market strategies, extensive project programming, and financial analyses for the mixed-use, multiphase, public-private partnership.

The Port plans to be under construction with the first phase in 2016, according to Terrie Battuello, chief of business development.
